CGVYAPAM (Chhattisgarh Vyaparik Pariksha Mandal) declared the dates of competitive exams. This year CGVYAPM made sure that CG PET & CG PMT would not be held on the same date. Important Update:
AICTE has decided to change the cutoff marks of PCM, from 50 to 45 in general category. So students having 45% in PCM will also be eligible for counseling. CGDTE will soon issue a notification for this.

What Should You Do Before Counselling?
1. Collect all important documents like 10th,12th marksheet, TC, Character Certificate, Cast certificate, CG PET 2011 marksheet, and some photographs.
2. Make a list of all colleges and branches of preferences on paper.
3. Make aDemand Draft Chalaan of Rs 500 (inform if different) payable to "CGDTE Raipur" from any branch of State Bank of India (SBI).
Online CGPET/AIEEE Counselling 2011 Step By Step Procedure
1. Website -
Go to the official CGPET counselling website [ www.mkcl.biz/cgpet2011 ] Unfortunately this web application is only supported in Internet Explorer. Click on the link above or manually type the address in the Address bar of Internet Explorer ( Internet Explorer 10 coming soon).
2. Language -
On the home page you can select the language of the website (Hindi/English)
3. Home -
On the home page of counseling website you are can see the following tabs:

these tabs will start functioning from the day of counselling, so wait now. Mean while download the rules for Counseling 2011
4. New Registration
Click on the New Registration button in the Login Links tab. You will be taken to the Instructions page, click on proceed button.
Now read the terms and conditions carefully, then accept.
Here you have to fill the CGPET 2011 / AIEEE 2011 roll number and your date of birth in the form. Don't do any mischief here because your IP address is stored and you may be liable to criminal charges.
5. Enter a valid email ID, password and phone number, because this information will be used to contact you. The password must be at least of 8 characters. Don't tell the password to anybody including the cyber cafe owner and your friends, otherwise your account may be in trouble.
6. In the screen you get a form, you have to fill more details such as:
Mother's Name
Mother Tongue
Religion (this is disgusting to ask religion)
Family Income
Area
State/Union Territory
Pin code etc.
then save your details.
7. If you passed from any Polytechnic College in 03 course of engg then in the special reservation column, select Yes.
8. Chalaan Details -
Download chalaan form for pet counselling [http://mkcl.biz/cgdte/Downloads/BankChallan.pdf] and for AIEEE counselling [http://mkcl.biz/cgdte/Downloads/BankChallanAIEEE.pdf] You have to pay Rs 500 from only SBI bank in favor of "CGDTE Chhattisgarh" the account number is "30173343567". Remeber No DD is required.
9. Filling Choices -
Fill all the choices of colleges and branches you would like in the column. Click on add selected options. The selected college will be added to your list. You are allowed to slide and upgrade the list in first round of counselling only. Then save and proceed. Don't hurry for filling the form.
10. When you are satisfied with your choice. Lock your choices before the date provided above.
11. Now take the print of the page showing your photo and details. You have to carry this print out to the Document Verification Center. In case you don't have a printer at home you can go to cyber cafe and get it printed. (Remember to not to give your password to cyber cafe owners)
12. When the result of 1st round of counselling will be declared(see date above) login to your account, by filling your ID & Password. Here you can now see if you are selected for any collage through online counselling.
13. You will not be allowed to change the list of choices after first round of counselling.
Document Verification Center (DVC) For PET
During the counselling (before the declaration of result) you have to get your documents verified at Document Verification Center (DVC) at 9AM to 6PM.
Two govt. engineering colleges and 14 polytechnic colleges have been chosen as the DVC.
Admission Through Donation[Management Quota] in Chhattisgarh Private Engineering Colleges
For your information, the 10% seats of all colleges are reserved for management quota. This is filled through donations. For this you can report at the individual colleges and take admission directly.
The admission MQ has already begun in BIT Durg, Shankaracharya, Rungta and almost all colleges.
Admission Through AIEEE 2011 in Chhattisgarh (CG) Engineering Colleges
This time before starting of CGPET online counselling ie July 14, 2011 AIEEE counselling will start for the admission in CG Engineering colleges.Only other state students can take admission through this counselling. Chhattisgarh Students are not allowed. You should score more than 10% marks in AIEEE 2011 to be eligible. All the procedure of participating in online counselling is same as described above.
Fee Waiver Scheme in Chhattisgarh Engineering College
The first 5-10% seats in each branch are reserved for Fee Waiver Scheme. In Fee Waiver Scheme you will not have to pay any tuition fees. To get the benefit of this scheme you must be the 5-10% student of any branch of colleges.

What is First Shift & Second Shift?
Well I am happy about it. Actually the seats of many engineering colleges viz BIT Durg, SSCET Bhilai, CSIT Durg, CIT Rjn, DIMAT Raipur, RIT Raipur, RCET Bhilai have been increased. So the colleges, mainly first year will be held in two shifts - first shift or morning shift and second shift or day shift. However most probably the faculty will be the same. Even now it's not necessary that one faculty will take classes in all the sections of same branch/year/sem. So this is not a big issue. This has been started a year ago.
I recommend student to opt for morning or first shift, because it will get so late in evening to return home, Girls may have problem. However Boys would definitely go for day because they can't afford to wake up in morning :)
