Google TV Runs Android, Chrome, Ready to Dominate in TV World

Google Launches Google TV, It runs Android OS, Chrome and Flash
update: Sony Has Launched Internet TV Google TV

Wonder! if web enters in your television. TV won't remain limited to some hundreds of channels but millions(or may be billions) of channels around the globe and will allow you to seamlessly search and get the best source to entertain yourself.

This now becomes the reality with Google TV. Google finally released long awaited Google TV in the I/O conference. Google TV uses a set top box or it can be directly incorporated in the tv, which runs on Android OS and can be paired with dish networks. I don't understand why didn't they use Chrome OS, instead of Google Android, perhaps the stability issue. Google Chrome is built in to browse the websites and video channels faster. This also transforms your TV into photo viewer, music player, game console, shopping corner and more.

Power of Search
Google being the search giant, gives you relevant results of the search queries, just like you search on your PC. It also features the very useful - suggest tool.

Rich Content
Apart from all TV channels worldwide it has the ability to stream videos from YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Video. Users can access the rich web apps and information in cloud. This can also run flash based content, which makes it easier to defeat it's competitors.

Open Platform - SDK, API & Apps
Google will soon release TV specific Android SDK and Web API for developers. This being open platform, developers can create rich apps and optimize there webpages for the TV media. In case you are not aware, TV media is already available in Cascading Style Sheet CSS. Get more tips on designing webpages compatible and easy to use on

Hardware
Google has teamed up with popular brands Sony, Intel an Logitech to build this internet TV, which give their best expertise to it.
Sony will build the standalone TV models and separately the set-top boxes along with Blue-ray drives.
Logitech will introduce a devices (companion box) which can be integrated with existing HDTV, set-top box and soon smart phones to run Google TV. This includes a controller that combines keyboard and remote control capabilities. Logitech also has planned for HD camera an live chat for Google TV and
Intel's new Intel Atom CE4100 processor will power both the Logitech and Sony devices. Let's see some Moore's laws here :)
Dish Networks are the key of Google TV. The trial with 400 Dish networks and some partners already began last year, more networks will soon follow.

Adobe Flash
The built in Chrome browser is integrated with Adobe Flash 10.1. With Flash on TV users can not only access the rich flash based websites but also videos, images, applications, games and my favorite flash based animations. Is someone jealous?

So the collaboration of powerful brands iGoogle, iSony, iLogitech and iIntel have joined to dominate in the world of Internet TV.

What are your views? Do you think it will make any success? Will it be helpful for consumers? We love readers feedback.

I think it will still take time for our country. Engineers are Indian but not working for their country.

this was going to happen some day or the other. As a matter of fact the technology exists already just time to see if Google can get the finished product right and also make it workable.

Google TV is great for families who want to optimize your Internet connection and television, especially those with first class services. Currently the cost of Set Top Box or TV deals are not known, but should be released in the near future. It is not known if this new technology will be released outside the United States but only time will tell.
