Android 2.3 Gingerbread Coming on Samsung Nexus S & Sony Ericsson X12/Anzu
Back in Jun some guys rumored that Android 3.0 will be called Gingerbread. But Google CEO Eric Schmidt denied this unveiling Android 2.3 to be codenamed Gingerbread. Android Gingerbread will be released withing few weeks from now, perhaps in the first quarter of 2011. But Google hasn't revealed the exact date officially. Android Gingerbread is featuring a new Near Field Communication (NFC) feature. NFC will allow Android phones to tap with other sensors to complete specific action.
The First Android Gingerbread phone would be Samsung made Nexus S. However it is also rumored that Sony Ericsson X12 or Anzu will be powered by Android Gingerbread. Hence it is expected to be released after Android Gingerbread next year. Sony Ercisson X12/Anzu features a 5MP camera, can record videos at 1080p resolution, huge 4.3" screen and HDMI output.
Another good news for us, Android has grown to be used for Tablets now. We are going to see many other companies turning towards Android Gingerbread.
