Recently Google launched its free public DNS. Domain Name System (DNS) is a technology which translates the web address or a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) into the numerical address that is the IP address (and vice versa) to find it over the internet.
When you type any URL into the address bar of web browser. Then the browser sends a request to the DNS server which translates the URL into IP address to find the server of that website you are looking.
I thought why not to perform something new and geeky. Following are the IP addresses of some popular websites, you can directly type them in the web browser instead of the URL :
To know the IP address of any website or a domain open command prompt in XP/Vista/Win 7/Windows10 or DOS in Windows 98/NT.
Go to Start > Run > type "cmd" which opens the command prompt
> now type
ping www.example.com
Copy the IP address and surf the geeky way.
Note friends, This was all for fun and educational purpose to show how browsers search the web pages.

I think they will have a single ip address if all are sub domains.

I dont think this is wise idea to access websites.. remembering 12 characters for each website is not an easy.. I need to do that i will choose 143.143.143.143 for my blog. . :D

ReplyDeleteNobody needs to remember ip like 64.233.181.99 because we have web browsers, but still some guys remember them very well.
There are so many other uses of it you can read the next part of this blog.
