Well, here are five sites for you to look at. Most of them offer free photos for public use, but some require you to log in or create an account. Here we will look at some websites. 1. Morgue File
Defined as, “a place to keep post-production materials for use of reference, an inactive job file”, MorgueFile is the first place to go for your free photo needs. Their search options are simple to use. However you should remember that the artists are posting the pictures, so you will have to think like an artist does. There are a wide variety of photos to choose from. The index page is worth looking at also, as new photos are shown there. All the photos on this site are free to use.

This website separates its photos into two different categories. You can download decent quality stock photos for free, but for their high-quality photos there is a charge. However, free photos are pretty good for everyday use.

This website is easy to get around in and has the photos separated into different categories on the index page. It also has a search box if you are looking for something specific, as well as high-resolution pictures (1600 x 1200 or 3072 x 2048). This is a great site to look in for a larger photo.

4. Public Domain Photos
Public Domain Photos has over 5,000 free photos and 8,000 free clipart to use by businesses and individuals alike. The site is easy to get around in, and clipart is a fun way to add a burst of color to your site.

5. Stock.xchng
At Stock.xchng there are over 30,000 photographers contributing over 350,000 stock photos. With that many photos, you’re almost certain to find what you need for your site. You have to create a username and password to have access to the photos, however.
